Modular bookshelf concept by Sebastian Freij drawn 6/4- 2025.
The SF12, also known as "Stacks," was designed for a Danish customer who wanted a fully built-in bookshelf for their living room, primarily to conceal the TV. The brief called for modularity, and a box system was suggested. This design not only serves as shelving but also enhances the overall experience with sliding doors.
Each box features a groove milled around its edges, allowing a metal rod to secure the shelves within the outer frame. The shelves are simply stacked on top of one another, offering flexibility in arrangement. This modularity allows for a unique, individualistic aesthetic, ensuring no two combinations are the same.
The sliding doors enable the bookshelf to be "boxed off," altering its visual appearance. Additionally, the fabric used in the doors helps dampen sound, creating a calmer atmosphere in the room.
