Diningroom table concept Designed by Sebastian Freij drawn 2/6-2022.
"The oak" came to be when I decided to try out working with wood instead of metal. It has always been hard for me to choose wood before metal since it has always been my "to go to" material. But breaking comfort zones make you grow as a designer and why not start wood working by shaping from the silouette of an oak, one of the strongest trees there is. The legs organicly shaped as branches form an stable silouette of an oak from firm ground leading up to the "treecrown" just underneath the table top. They also go through the table top reaching for the skies. The chamfer running along the edge gives an impression of standing at the fot of a tree and looking up at the leafves one thing I loved doing as a child. All components are made from solid oak held together by 4 screws om each leg. The table is 75cm high and have an diameter of 120cm.
