Stool/sideboard concept by Sebastian Freij drawn 18/11- 2022.
Designing something as simple as a stool while still creating something innovative has challenged designers throughout history. This is my interpretation, aiming to make it as minimalist and functional as possible. The inspiration came from experimenting with various geometric shapes, ultimately leading to the triangle, known for its structural strength. This formed the basis for "The Triad."
The Triad is primarily a stool, but by rolling up the cushion, it transforms into a sideboard or nightstand, offering dual functionality. The materials used include birch veneer, leather, and a cushion made of PU foam with a leather cover.
In the newly rendered version, oak veneer replaces the birch.
